1/5-2018 Öland

Fantastic four days on Öland. Sunny and windy – just as it should be. Went for birds 1 of May and found a lot of newcomers around the sothern parts of the Island. Especially happy with the Spotted flycatcher.

1/10-2015 Wadden Sea Panoramas

Vadehavet Panorama-4 White wall of plovers. ©Ola Karlsson Last weekend I went with some friends from PhotoNatura to Wadden Sea in the south-western part of Jutland to chase the phenomenon “Black sun” in Danish “Sort Sol”, which is a very fascinating phenomenon when tens of thousands or sometimes significantly more of starlings form fantastic formations […]

4/7-2015 Saturday Night – Porpoises!

4/7-2015 Saturday Night - Porpoises!

We got a trip to Kullen and a boat safari for Porpoises (mereswine) arranged by Kullabergsguiderna as a gift from dear friends and family last year. Saturday night the fourth of July we went for the tour. It was so far by far the best summer night this year – warm, with the sun from […]

15/5-2015 Kingfisher!

15/5-2015 Kingfisher!

Every year it is the same – or is it? I find spring the most fantastic and rewarding of all seasons. It is pure optimism and all systems are on Go! This weekend I spent on Öland and the weather was great and I got the opportunity to get some good chances to great shots. […]

11/5-2015 Nöbbelövs mosse – within city limits

11/5-2015 Nöbbelövs mosse – within city limits

After 29 years in Lund I finally visited Nöbbleövs mosse. My friend Jan-Erik Jönsson has been talking about the place for quite some time and now he brought me here. It exceeded my expectations by far and I am fascinated that this place can exist (almost) within city limits of Lund. During the three hours […]

18/1-2015 Pheasant & Red Kites

18/1-2015 Pheasant & Red Kites

My friend Torsten Green-Petersen from Visby was visiting today. He arrived to the farm quarter past seven while it still was pitch black. We hiked out and started to wait in the dark. The sky turned red and the frost in the grass gave a surreal touch to the scene. We saw several Red Kites […]

11/1-2015 Common Buzzards after the storm Egon

11/1-2015 Common Buzzards after the storm Egon

The storm Egon hit us hard last weekend and the sounds in the house during night kept me awake. Since I was already up I decided to get out to see if I could get some photos of birds in the aftermath of the storm. I went out in the dark and when the first […]

19 900 Cranes @ Hornborgasjön 29/3-2013

19 900 Cranes @ Hornborgasjön 29/3-2013

I got up at 3.30 AM and drove a borrowed old Volvo home to Erland in Helsingborg, where we shifted car and then went to pick up Johnny in Markaryd. Erland and Johnny are friends that share the interest for nature photography and they are also members in PhotoNatura. We spent the day at Hornborgasjön to see […]

At first very quiet outside my hide 9/2-2014

At first very quiet outside my hide 9/2-2014

I am again in Frenninge to get some more photos of the Red Kites (Milvus milvus). This time I am aiming for real close-ups as a complement to the more distant environmental shots I got so far this winter. It has been raining for a week and most of the snow is gone now. There […]

Red Kite 2/2-2014

Red Kite 2/2-2014

After coming back from Tierra del Fuego I have been spending my time on getting pictures of Red Kite. Spending the weekends in Frenninge on Österlen (or as close as you can get) where it normally is quite a few of these birds when the snow is hitting hard. The first trials where just a […]

Andean Condors at Daybreak 7/1-2013

Andean Condors at Daybreak 7/1-2013

The third day of the condors – I get up at 4.30 AM to and I am out before sunrise. A beautiful morning with pink skies and the Kelp Gulls already outside the hide at arrival. Daybreak and excitement – light conditions can not be better. This is what I have been waiting for – […]

Day 2 of Condors 6/1-2014

Day 2 of Condors 6/1-2014

A full day in the hide with almost ten hours sitting on a stick of wood. Divided into a morning session and one afternoon session with lunch in between. No real luck this day – before lunch we had the Andean Condors (Vultur gryphus) down on the ground quite far away and they stayed […]

Day 1 of Condors 5/1-2014

Day 1 of Condors 5/1-2014

Up early and off to the southern parts of the Andes. We are going for the shy Condors. On the way towards the hide we stop several times and the drive takes at least an hour more than what could be expected from looking at a map. We get to see the Ostrich like […]

Familjemöte i örnnästet 17/5-2012

Familjemöte i örnnästet 17/5-2012
